About Me
Melodie Seble
I’m a University of Oregon student. I’m currently in my fourth and final year. I study journalism: public relations, journalism: communications studies, and Spanish. After I graduate, I hope to work in public relations.
My goal for this blog is to gain experience with social media, as well as increase my knowledge and my visitors’ knowledge about PR-related subjects. I will blog primarily about topics pertaining to PR, but I will periodically cover other subjects.
I am passionate about music. I play several instruments and have played the clarinet since I was 10 years old. Currently, I am learning to play the ukulele. I love to read, write, spend time with friends and family, surf through the infinite knowledge and folly of the Internet, and explore beautiful Eugene, Oregon.
In high school I was labeled as the quiet, studious, bookish girl with perfect grades, but now that I’m in college I’m completely different. Alright, that’s a lie. I haven’t changed very much since high school. However, I’m not as boring as I sound, I promise! I’m fun-loving and have been known to crack jokes at inopportune moments, but above all my current focus is on academics. Sometimes this makes me seem stuffy, but it’s hard work to put myself through college while trying to maintain good grades, internships and some semblance of a social life.
My academic interests are varied and can range anywhere from media representation of gender, racial inequality, biblical themes, theoretical physics and string theory, Internet memes, accurate translations of ancient Mayan texts, and zombiism in popular culture.
At first, especially, I will stick to public relations topics, but don’t worry – I will try my best to post relevant and interesting entries.
I want to have fun with this blog, and I hope you enjoy reading it!
